A Descent into Psychological Darkness
1. Imagery
A large, shadowed male face looms over scenes of dismissal, judgment, intimacy and emotional distress. A threatening winged creature introduces a nightmarish element alongside the everyday encounters.
2. Composition
Smaller scenes surround the central portrait, creating a fragmented narrative. A vertical column of promotional text guides the eye down towards the title, split across the lower section.
3. Colour
Black, grey and muted sepia create an oppressive atmosphere. Ochre-gold lettering provides the main colour accent, drawing attention to the escalating tagline and film title.
4. Title and Typography
Heavy, distressed capitals give “THE TRAP DOOR” a rough, imposing presence. The gap between “TRAP” and “DOOR” echoes the fragmented montage, while smaller condensed lettering organises the central text.
5. Symbolism and Tone
